Ndindi Nyoro

A vocal ODM politician has accused Kiharu Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Ndindi Nyoro of deliberately trying to sabotage President Ruto’s project that seeks to expand the Rironi-Mau Summit Highway.

The Rironi-Mau Summit Highway project by the Kenya Kwanza Administration seeks to expand and upgrade the current road into a four-lane dual carriageway, which will help to improve traffic flow and also reduce congestion.

The Government is expected to carry out the project as a Public-Private Partnership, up to a period of two years.

The Rironi-Mau Summit Highway stretches from Rironi, which is in Kiambu County, then through Naivasha and Nakuru, then ends at Mau Summit.

Kiharu Constituency Member of Parliament has in a recent statement about the project insisted that Kenyans should not be tolled in effort to expand the highway.

The MP insisted that the project should be done exclusively by the Government, without burdening Kenyans who already pay VAT, PAYE, and the fuel levy, just for using a highway that is supposed to serve the general public.

“The expansion of Rironi – Mau Summit Road should be done as a Government project without tolling Kenyans,” stated the vocal legislator.

Reacting to the calls by Ndindi Nyoro, ODM politician, Robert Alai has accused the Kiharu MP of indirectly fighting the project.

The ODM Legislator even told the MP to openly admit that he is against the project, instead of proposing ideas that make it difficult to realize the success of the project.

“Just say you don’t want it done,” stated the vocal ODM politician in his words directed to Ndindi Nyoro.

According to Alai, such a huge project is impossible without the Public- Private Partnerships, and even subjecting Kenyans to the toll fees.
