uthorities discovered the body of Peter Ndirangu, a 65-year-old man, in his home in Othaya, Nyeri County, on Saturday, nearly a month after he was reported missing. The cause of death remains undetermined at this time.

Neighbors reported that Ndirangu was last seen in the area in December of the previous year. One of his brothers recounted a disturbing experience while grazing cows nearby, where he was overwhelmed by a foul odor emanating from the house. Upon investigation, he found the residence partially closed, with spoiled food on the table and Ndirangu’s body lying on the bed.

Local police were alerted and subsequently transferred the body to the mortuary for a postmortem examination. Notably, Ndirangu lived alone, and law enforcement indicated that his family never reported him missing or initiated any search efforts.

The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and are calling on friends and relatives to promptly report any cases of missing persons.

In a separate incident in Katulani, Kitui County, authorities found the body of 42-year-old Taavu Mutua along the banks of the Tiva River. The deceased exhibited injuries to the head and back, and the cause of death is currently under investigation. The body has been moved to the mortuary pending further examination.

In Kathare, Meru County, police discovered the body of a suspected bandit in a thicket following a confrontation with police reservists during an attempted cattle rustling. The deceased was found alongside an AK-47 rifle, with three bullets, a knife, and several coins. During the clash, three local residents sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Authorities successfully recovered the stolen cattle and returned them to their rightful owners.

In response to the ongoing threat posed by bandits in the area, police have intensified operations, resulting in the recovery of hundreds of stolen livestock.

In Machakos Town, a suspect met a tragic end when he was stoned to death by locals who accused him of stealing clothes from a line belonging to students from a nearby college. The body has been sent to the mortuary for further investigation and postmortem analysis.

Lastly, in Kiambara, Nyeri County, a 63-year-old man was lynched following an altercation in which he attacked another individual, severing the victim’s hand. Emergency services rushed the injured man to the hospital, while police have moved the deceased’s body to the mortuary for further examination.
