MP Nelson Koech on Thursday, March 12, visited the home of the late Amos Kipngetich in Soget Village, Mogondo Ward, to console the bereaved family following the tragic plane crash that claimed his life along with several others, including Hon. Ngeno.During the visit, MP Koech announced that, in line with directives from President William Ruto, he would cover the school fees for Amos’s sibling and immediately begin constructing houses for Amos’s mother and brothers.

The gesture aims to offer stability to the family as they navigate their grief. Amos, who was just 23 years old, was the second of six siblings and was the primary supporter of his family.

Although he worked with the Kenya Forest Service for less than a year and a half, his commitment and strong work ethic made a significant impact on those around him.

During a requiem mass at the African Gospel Church in Karen, Nairobi, last week, family spokesperson Richard Chepkwony revealed that Amos survived for about 30 minutes after the accident, during which he continually asked about the former MP Ngeno.Upon learning of his passing, Amos reportedly said that if she had died, he saw little reason to keep living.

Elsewhere, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula stated that the Parliamentary Service Commission will explore ways to support families of those who worked in MP Ngeno’s office and perished in the crash.

The MP’s visit united community members in grief and reflection, providing support and solidarity to a family facing profound sorrow while also celebrating Amos’s memory, his contributions during his brief life.
