The family of former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is currently in deep mourning after one of them recently unfortunately passed away.
The one who died is actually a lady called Sofia, who happens to be the aunt of the flamboyant politician.
Sofia was the sister of Mike Sonko’s late mom Saumu Mukami, and she was one of only two aunts, that were still alive from his mom’s side.
Mike Sonko actually disclosed the sad news in a post that he made on his X account, where he further disclosed that the late Sofia will be laid to rest at 1 PM in Kikowani Cemetery.
“Mimi uongea tu kama jokes kuwa sisi sote ni maiti watarajiwa but I now fully believe that we shall all die and live this world the same way we found it. This is my Aunty called Sofia, sister to my late mum, Saumu Mukami, anaishi pale majengo Mvita. Imagine walizaliwa 10 but now on my mother’s side nimebakia na only one Aunty anaitwa Momo former KPA staff pale Kisauni mlaleo na one uncle anaitwa Keah Hamisi former KQ staff pale Burnley majengo. Huyu aunty Sofia appearing in this post seems Mungu anampenda sana zaidi yetu as she has just been taken by the angels to go and rest in peace. Mazishi 1pm Kikowani Cemetery” Mike Sonko wrote.
Apart from Mike Sonko, other people who also mourned the late Sofia was his wife Primrose Mbuvi, his first-born daughter Saumu Mbuvi and his adoptive son Satrine Osinya.
Taking to her instagram stories, Primrose Mbuvi shared a photo of the late Sofia and then accompanied it with a caption saying:
“Sleep well my Laazizi 😥😥🙏”.
Satrine Osinya also posted a photo of the late Sofia, and then accompanied it with a caption saying;
“Rest well auntie I’ll miss you 💗
Until we meet again ❤️🩹”.
On her part, Saumu Mbuvi wrote a message that showed how she was in deep mourning too.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilahyi raji’un 💔😥” she said
