He is the man in-charge of one of the most dreaded security installations in the country; the GSU Training College at Embakasi “B” Campus.
William Samoei took over the command of the GSU Training College in 2024,. To date, he remains in-charge of this installation where boys are turned to highly trained officers.
Before his appointment as the commandant of the GSU training college, Samoei served as the deputy GSU commandant at the unit’s headquarters in Ruaraka.
Somoei was appointed to the role in the changes made in July 2024 at the height of the anti-government demonstrations by youthful protesters christened the Gen Zs.
Before his appointment as the deputy GSU commandant, he served as the deputy regional police commander for the Rift Valley region.
Now donning the much revered red beret and ever in that jungle green GSU combat uniform, Samoei who is in the senior rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, is one of the most respected cops in the country.
