Former Chief Justice David Maraga has claimed that Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss Amin Mohamed are holding their positions illegally, alleging that President William Ruto bent public officers’ retirement laws during their appointments.
According to Maraga, the appointments of both Kanja and Amin involved a departure from the standard retirement regulations that govern public service positions in the country. He argued that this raises serious legal questions about the legitimacy of their continued stay in office.
