Residents of Kinangop, Nyandarua County, have come together to support the reconstruction of the Ndunyu Njeru Police Station, which was set ablaze by angry locals in June.

According to Inooro FM, the project had stalled for months, prompting local business people to pool resources and revive its completion. The group invited Pastor Peter Macharia of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit Church, who led prayers before the works officially resumed.

The rebuilding initiative has been warmly welcomed by the community, with many expressing optimism that the new facility will play a crucial role in enhancing security. Residents believe the station will help deter crime and ensure peace, particularly during political gatherings when tensions often rise.

On June 26, 2025, the Ndunyu Njeru Police Station was torched by enraged residents after police allegedly shot and killed a man during protests linked to cattle theft. The incident left the community vulnerable, with many calling on the government to fast-track the rebuilding process.

Now, with locals taking charge, hope has been rekindled that the project will finally be completed and security restored in the area.
