After losing two sisters in a tragic accident on Monday, May 5, 2025, a family in Kiawaroga, Limuru, which is in Kiambu County, is in deep sorrow.

The sisters were killed instantly when they were hit by a speeding automobile on their way home from church. To make matters worse, the disaster also claimed the life of a close friend of the sisters. A fourth member of the gang suffered serious injuries and is presently undergoing treatment.

According to reports, the driver of the vehicle—which had a learner driver’s “L” sticker—was speeding when the collision occurred. Locals, who have long complained about careless drivers putting pedestrians’ lives in danger, are outraged by the occurrence.

The sisters, who went by Zipporah and Grace, were adored by their family and neighbourhood. It will be challenging to fill the emptiness left by their untimely and awful deaths.

Since the sisters were also mothers, their kids must now deal with life without their moms’ support and affection.

Residents have voiced their displeasure with the growing number of tourists who travel to the region for leisure and sightseeing, especially to see the tea plantations nearby.

They assert that some of these tourists disrespect the safety and welfare of the local people by driving too fast and acting inappropriately. Locals have seen incidents of drunkenness in public, careless driving, and other wrongdoing.

To solve the problem of careless driving and guarantee the security of local pedestrians, the local government has been encouraged to act.

People are demanding that police be present more often, that traffic regulations be enforced more strictly, and that policies be put in place to discourage speeding and other risky driving practices.
