“What we did was, we intentionally shared our location with the DCI…Everything we did was by design. That’s why you saw videos circulating of his arrest,” Washali explained.

Washali revealed that they had directed the DCI to Kimathi’s location in Meru, expecting him to be processed at a local police station.

“We agreed that he would be booked in a Meru police station, but they bypassed that and drove to DCI HQ for interrogation and later booked at Ruaraka Police Station,” Washali stated.
