A nightclub in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, has caught the attention of Kenyans after a video of its waitresses went viral on TikTok.

The clip, which has been widely shared, shows the ladies at Forbes Lounge Kitale serving drinks in a unique way. Dressed in white t-shirts and lesos tied around their waists, they walked with bottle service lights while dancing to a popular Luhya song.

Many online users were impressed by the creative dress code. Some admitted it was their first time seeing waitresses dressed in traditional attire while entertaining guests in a nightclub. Others quickly asked for the exact location of the lounge, promising to visit during their next trip to Kitale.

“I’ve found a hidden gem, I’ll definitely pass by when I travel upcountry,” one person commented. Another added, “This is the best in Kitale.”

Speaking about the viral video, Forbes Lounge manager Ian Wayne explained that the performance was part of their monthly traditional night.

“We hold the event under different themes, each time highlighting a different community. It gives our clients a chance to connect with their roots while enjoying themselves,” he said.

According to Ian, traditional nights always create hype and bring in more customers compared to regular themed nights. The idea has also boosted sales and made the club stand out among others in the region.

Forbes Lounge, which recently celebrated its second anniversary, has also hosted big names in entertainment, including Vera Sidika, DJ Grauchi, and Chief Protus of Misheveve fame.

With the growing buzz online, many say Forbes Lounge has now placed Kitale firmly on Kenya’s nightlife map.
