popular Kikuyu gospel musician Austin Muturi was live in an interview where he clarified rumours that he has ended up in alcoholism and he was taken to rehabilitation centre. According to him, he was born and raised in Kiambu county and him singing was a very big struggle. He did fifteen Harambees to raise fifteen thousand and finally God blessed him and he was able to sing.

He left Kiambu to Nairobi to start singing where he met other Kikuyu musicians and they held his hand. After releasing the first song it didn’t go viral and he struggled so much to sell the song. He met a man who told him that he liked his music where he promised to sponsor his next song if it would be better. He wrote the second song sponsored by the man and it became a bit popular making some people know him.

When he sang the most popular Kikuyu song in Kenya “kuma Irathiro ria riua”, he was going through a very hard situation since immediately after releasing the song his mother died. When society was cerebrating him and his song, he was mourning his mother’s death. After producing the song he met Nyoks Wa Katta and he gave her a compact CD to play it at Coro FM. Nyoks Wa Katta played it at Coro FM and her husband Katta played the song at Inooro FM.

When his song was being played everywhere he was with his mother in hospital and the doctor had said she was going to die any time soon. After burying her mother the song changed his life completely. The song helped him buy a land and he built a magnificent home after Uhuru gave him a job in 2017. He built a house and bought a new expensive car. After doing all that, that was when his problems began. He got sick where he was suffering from ulcers and he was admitted in hospital.

That was when he got news that were going viral saying he had turned to alcoholism and he was taken to rehabilitation. Nobody reached out to know what was going through in his life. He said that he was going through a lot, because he was unable to pay his two loans worth 2.4 million and one of his friends wanted to auction his car. He started struggling again and people were talking about him going back to alcoholism.

Only Karangu Muraya and Mubia Paul came to his rescue and they gave him some money which he used to pay some of the loans. He decided to sell his car to gain stability again and he was able to stand again. He made it clear that he has never turned to alcoholism and he doesn’t know how a rehabilitation centre looks like. He concluded by saying he is suffering from nerve problems but he will be okey very soon. Watch the full video below and share your views with us.
