A private investigator hired to verify paternity claims of a man from Siaya who has asserted that he is the biological son of deceased former President Mwai Kibaki made shocking revelations that have evoked social media and offline fury. The investigator whose work has already been made public to close family members set out inconsistencies in the man’s story and unnerving realities of his existence.
The man known only as Omondi indicated that he was conceived after a secret affair between his mother and the late president many years ago. But the investigator determined that the dates locations and witnesses Omondi produced conflicted with official or historical accounts of the late president’s whereabouts at the time.
What has drawn even greater interest is that the man supposedly used forged documents to support his claims. DNA samples which were taken by an independent lab reportedly showed no biological link between him and any of the members of Kibaki. The investigator also traced financial path showing Omondi had received some cash from some mysterious people just before revealing his claims to the public raising questions on whether there was a planned plot.
The disclosures have highly unsettled the Kibaki family whose members according to sources feel that the late president’s legacy is being taken advantage of. The residents in Siaya have reacted differently with some calling for the government to establish whether Omondi was on a personal agenda or under orders.
The author concluded the report by issuing a caution that unless checked such unsubstantiated claims would be bound to destroy the image of public officials as well as their families. Officials are now being urged to step in and prevent the further propagation of disinformation on the former president’s heritage.
