Litein Boys High School in Kericho county has been the talk of the town over the past few days after students went on strike, causing massive destruction to the institution.

Following the damage, including razed dormitories, classrooms, and other areas, the school was closed indefinitely, and the boys were sent home. Several videos showing the current state of the school have emerged online since the violent rampage, including one revealing a chilling note from the boys to their Principal, Richard Sang. The clip, shared on TikTok, showed a few adults, seemingly authorities and teachers, inspecting the damage within the school.

The room they were in had papers scattered all over the floor, with broken chairs, tables, and even drawers. “We could review the CCTV footage, but they took the hard disk and destroyed everything. We cannot trace back. These boys were organised,” they discussed.

What message did Litein boys leave principal? They then moved to another room where a message was boldly written on the wall for the school principal. The students left a warning in the message, implying a serious consequence if the head of the school did not do as they demanded. “Sang, you will die, and if the school is not opened, next year you will know our true colours,” read the note.

“These children knew the extent of the damage they caused and knew very well the school would not be opened soon,” another voice was heard. Among the things destroyed at the school was the computer lab, which they set ablaze, burning all the machines.

Litein Boys principal Richard Sang visited the school after the strike and found a message left for him.

Why did Litein boys strike? According to reports, the students expressed their discontent after being denied the chance to watch an English Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City.

What was thought to be a mere murmur of complaints quickly intensified, escalating into a full-blown strike. Images and videos shared online depicted the damages caused, showing the burnt remains of classrooms and dormitories. The students allegedly overpowered the security guards and officers after switching off the lights in the entire school.
