A well-known businessman in Kariobangi, Nairobi, was stabbed to death during a failed robbery on Monday night. Police said the victim, a millionaire trader, suffered multiple stab wounds in the back and neck.

According to eyewitnesses, the businessman was attacked near his home as he returned from work. A group of armed robbers is believed to have ambushed him, demanding cash and valuables. When he resisted, the attackers stabbed him several times before fleeing the scene.

Residents who heard the commotion rushed to help but found him lying in a pool of blood. They alerted the police, who arrived moments later. The businessman was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police have launched investigations into the murder. They are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby buildings to identify the attackers. Officers suspect the robbers might have been monitoring the businessman’s movements before striking.

“This was a well-planned attack. We are following crucial leads, and we will arrest those responsible,” said a senior police officer.

The murder has shocked Kariobangi residents and the business community, who are now calling for better security. Some traders said they have witnessed an increase in robberies and muggings in recent months.

“We are living in fear. The government must act fast to stop these criminals,” said one shop owner.

The businessman was known for his generosity and had helped many young people in the area. His family is demanding justice and urging police to find the killers.

The body was taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem as investigations continue.
