A man from Karatina town is appealing for help after losing his job following a road accident in which he narrowly escaped death together with his passengers.

Moses Maina, a driver and father of one, says his life changed completely after the accident, leaving him without an income and struggling to provide for his family.

The accident happened on October 17, 2025, in the Mugumo-ini area, past Ihwagi, along the Karatina–Kagochi road.

At the time of the incident, Moses was driving a vehicle belonging to Kagochi Travellers and was carrying seven passengers.

According to his account, the vehicle suddenly developed a mechanical problem while on the road.

Moses explained that the left rear wheel of the vehicle came off unexpectedly, causing him to lose control.

The car then rolled several times before coming to a stop.

He described the moments as terrifying, saying he feared for his life and the lives of the passengers he was carrying.

Despite the seriousness of the accident, Moses says they were fortunate that no one was injured.

All seven passengers were rescued safely and walked away without any physical injuries.

Residents and passers-by who arrived at the scene helped in the rescue before the passengers were taken to safety.

Many described the incident as a miracle, considering how badly the vehicle had rolled.

However, Moses’ relief was short-lived. Following the accident, he was suspended from his job as a driver.

He later learned that his employment had been terminated, leaving him without a source of income.

Moses says that since then, life has been very difficult, as he is the main breadwinner for his family.

The father of one says he has tried to look for another driving job but has not been successful.

He believes the accident has made it hard for him to regain trust from potential employers, despite the fact that no lives were lost and the incident was caused by a mechanical failure.

Now, Moses is appealing to the public for help.

He says he is open to any kind of honest work, including driving, casual labor, or any manual job that can help him earn a living and support his family.

He says he is hardworking, responsible, and ready to work whenever an opportunity arises.

Moses has asked well-wishers, employers, and anyone with job opportunities to consider assisting him during this difficult time.
