Betty Bayo’s husband, Hiram Gitau, was observed clearly sad and in grief at Kenyatta National Hospital following her death.
Gospel musician Karangu Muraya was subsequently seen lending Hiram a shoulder to lean on as they met to organize Betty’s final send-off.
Karangu’s poignant snapshot triggered an outpouring of encouraging remarks from netizens, with many applauding Hiram for making Betty happy while she was still alive.
Hiram was seen at Kenyatta National Hospital minutes after her death was announced, straining to hold back tears as he accepted the awful fact that his wife was no longer alive.
Hours later, Hiram was seen with gospel singer Karangu Muraya, Betty’s industry buddy, as they gathered with other singers and her family to organize her ultimate sendoff.
Karangu shared images from the meeting, which showed Hiram’s face etched with anguish.
“Sorry, bro,” he wrote below the photo. In memory of Betty, he wrote a poignant tribute: “I remember some years back, my sister Betty Bayo helped me to fundraise for a patient at Witeithie and went ahead and gave that single mother a plot at her own land in Makuyu…”
May this sacrifice speak for your wonderful children; may they have everything they need in life.” The sad photographs inspired an outpouring of sympathy from followers online, with many offering encouraging remarks for the widower.
Here are some of their comments: Blessed Waithira Waithira: “Thanks, Karangu for giving him your shoulders.” Maggi Kariuki: “The man who gave a shoulder to lean, it’s well.”
