Gospel singer Karangu Muraya revealed that President William Ruto helped clear the outstanding hospital bill for his late brother, Paul Kariithi Muraya, after months of treatment following a road accident.
According to Karangu, the medical bill had risen to about KSh 1.8 million. He explained that insurance only covered KSh 400,000, leaving a large unpaid balance.
While he did not specify the exact figure President Ruto personally paid, based on the amounts he disclosed, the remaining balance was approximately KSh 1.4 million.
This show of support from the President was much appreciated at Paul Kariithi Muraya’s burial yesterday.
Karangu said the support came at a time when the family was overwhelmed financially and emotionally, describing it as unexpected but deeply appreciated. He also noted that Deputy President Kithure Kindiki had earlier helped settle part of the initial medical expenses.
