Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has received good news after the Political Party Tribunal stopped the orders that had nullified his National Delegates Conference (NDC).

EALA MP Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege’s faction previously held a meeting of Jubilee Party’s Internal Dispute Resolution Committee, where they resolved to nullify Uhuru’s NDC.

The NDC took place on May 22, and the Registrar of Political Parties implemented the nullification of the meeting.

Uhuru’s camp, led by Jeremiah Kioni, went to court to protest the decision.

In her ruling on Wednesday, PPDT chairperson Desma Nungo also issued orders staying the directive from Kega’s Dispute Committee.

The court also declared that any other decision made after the dispute committee’s directive is also suspended. The meeting was done by Kega’s faction before Uhuru’s NDC.

On Tuesday, Kega’s Jubilee Party faction announced its withdrawal from the Deed of Agreement for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya.

In a statement he signed as the Jubilee National Secretary-General, Kega provided the expected climax from his faction after months of power struggle that has left the once-dominant party split in two and reduced to a pale shadow of its former self.

In other important news updates, Azimio leader Raila Odinga is in Nairobi. He visited the city to assess the extent of the damage caused by the fire in the market.
