Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has made it clear that his loyalty to Raila Odinga remains unshaken, despite his recent engagements with the government. Speaking at a public gathering, Kalonzo dismissed claims that he had abandoned the opposition, stating that his alliance with Raila is built on respect, trust, and a shared vision for Kenya.
“There are those who expect me to turn against Raila simply because I am engaging with the government. That will never happen. Our history together is deep, and my commitment to the Azimio coalition remains firm,” Kalonzo affirmed.
The former Vice President acknowledged that working with the government does not mean betraying his political allies. He emphasized that his recent moves are driven by the need to push for national unity and development rather than political rivalry.
“I have always advocated for dialogue and constructive politics. Engaging with the government is not about personal gain but ensuring that Kenyans benefit from stability and progress,” he said.
Kalonzo and Raila have been close allies for years, having partnered in multiple elections under the Azimio and NASA coalitions. While political shifts are common in Kenya, Kalonzo maintained that his respect for Raila remains intact.
His remarks come amid speculation that he may be positioning himself for the 2027 elections. However, Kalonzo reassured his supporters that his political decisions would always align with the best interests of the country.
With the 2027 elections looming, all eyes will be on Kalonzo to see whether he will remain in Raila’s camp or chart his own political path.
