Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah encountered a challenging moment in Tharaka Nithi when a significant section of the crowd walked out as he began his speech. This incident occurred just a day after he was heckled in Nyandarua, highlighting growing discontent among certain groups of the public.

As soon as Ichung’wah took the microphone, many attendees started leaving, signalling their lack of interest in his address. Videos from the event captured a large number of people exiting, leaving the MP struggling to hold the audience’s attention. Despite his efforts to energize the gathering, the crowd’s reaction remained unenthusiastic. Eventually, he was forced to cut his speech short.

This recent reception is part of a larger pattern, as Ichung’wah has faced increasing resistance in various public forums. Critics argue that his past remarks and political stance have alienated sections of the population, leading to the cold reception he is experiencing.

Supporters, however, believe he is being unfairly targeted and that political opponents are behind these incidents. Moving forward, analysts suggest that the MP may need to address public concerns and rebuild his rapport with voters to avoid further such occurrences.
