Nyandarua Senator John Methu has addressed growing public interest over his relationship with President William Ruto following his controversial remarks during a recent event in Ol Kalou.

Speaking to the press, Methu clarified that his comments had been taken out of context, insisting that he maintains a respectful and professional relationship with the Head of State.

He emphasized that his speech in Ol Kalou was meant to reflect the concerns of his constituents rather than to attack or undermine the President.

The senator noted that as an elected leader, he has a responsibility to voice the issues affecting the people of Nyandarua, even if it means expressing views that may appear critical of the national government.

“Leadership is about honesty and accountability. My remarks were guided by the need to represent wananchi,” Methu stated.

His clarification comes amid heightened political tension, with some leaders interpreting his earlier speech as a sign of a rift within the ruling alliance.

However, Methu dismissed such claims, reiterating his support for the government’s development agenda while calling for more inclusive dialogue.

Political analysts suggest that Methu’s statement is aimed at calming tensions and reaffirming unity within government ranks.

As the debate continues, his remarks highlight the delicate balance leaders must strike between loyalty to the administration and responsiveness to local concerns.
