Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor, widely known as Jalang’o, has moved to address complaints raised by DJ Pinto Cahill after the entertainer publicly alleged that he had not been paid for services rendered at several political events associated with ODM leaders.

The controversy erupted after Pinto Cahill shared an emotional message on social media detailing what he described as a pattern of unpaid work despite his participation in numerous rallies and political gatherings across different parts of the country.

According to the DJ, he had performed at events in Kisumu, Migori, Narok, Bondo, and Nairobi but had not received the compensation he expected for his services.

In his post, Pinto expressed frustration over what he termed as repeated promises that never materialized. He claimed that in some instances he was only given transport money, while in others he received nothing at all despite contributing to the success of the events.

The DJ said he could no longer remain silent and insisted that all he wanted was fair payment for his work.

The post quickly attracted attention online, prompting reactions from supporters, fellow creatives, and political followers.

Many sympathized with his situation and argued that artists and entertainers deserve timely compensation whenever they are engaged for political functions.

Jalang’o was among those who responded publicly. The legislator, who has a long background in the entertainment industry, described the allegations as troubling and promised to investigate the matter.

He asked Pinto to share his contact information and sought clarification on the individuals responsible for hiring him.

Jalang’o stated that such treatment of an artist was unacceptable and assured the DJ that he would personally follow up on the issue. His intervention was welcomed by many social media users who praised him for taking immediate action after the complaint surfaced.

The dispute has also reignited discussion about the welfare of entertainers involved in political campaigns and rallies.

Several commentators observed that musicians, DJs, and event hosts often play a significant role in attracting crowds and energizing supporters, yet some claim they are not always compensated fairly.

Pinto Cahill recently joined ODM’s Linda Ground activities after being introduced as part of the movement’s entertainment team.

His appointment came after the departure of the party’s former DJ, Spider, who shifted allegiance to a different political camp.

As discussions continue online, many are now waiting to see whether the payment dispute will be resolved and whether those responsible will address the concerns raised by the popular DJ.
