Famous actress Jacky Vike, also known as Awinja, has shared a painful story about her father’s burial.
Jacky said she recently went to her village in Vihiga and found old photos of her father’s funeral.When she saw the photos, she remembered how poor her family was at that time.She said, “During my father’s burial, we were very poor inside. We could not even afford a tent.”
Jacky said her father died when she was still young. He worked as a casual worker and a cobbler. After he died, her mother raised her and her siblings alone.Her mother worked as a cleaner for the county council. The salary would come after 4 months or more, so life was very hard.
Jacky also said that her father’s uncle was given money to buy a coffin, but he used the money for other things.Because of that, the family had no proper coffin and no money for a good burial. They buried him in a very simple way.
Jacky said that painful time taught her to work hard. Today she is a big actress and has made it from grass to grace, but she will never forget where she came from.
