The Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of The President Dennis Itumbi has blasted the Daily Nation, following a report that a man linked to Ksh 720 Million jobs scam accompanied President Ruto during his trip to Germany. Taking to his X account, Itumbi claimed that the headline in the local daily was misleading and aimed at distorting a noble initiative.
He hit out at the editors and stated that the story and the headline are worlds apart. Itumbi complained that journalism by the Daily Nation is slowly folding to the gutter.
”A newspaper with a misleading headline that intentionally distorts a noble initiative. Stoking negative fires for no good reason. The story and the Headline are worlds apart. A Nation journalism slowly folding to the gutter,” he tweeted.
The local publication reported that a man identified as Ceaser Wagicheru Kingori managed to find his way to Germany during Ruto’s official trip despite defrauding Kenyan jobseekers of Ksh 720 Million through his recruitment agency.
He had promised jobseekers some lucrative jobs in Germany, only for them to realize that it was a scam. The suspect has been summoned by DCI as investigations into the fraud continues.
