The Ugandan government has sent some of its military soldiers to Iran on a rescue mission to help evacuate Ugandan students currently stuck in the conflict zone.

Luckily enough, the mission was successful, and the 43 students were safely moved out of the country through Turkey according to reports earlier this morning.

The students were relieved after three days of being stuck and left helpless since the conflict started.

But luckily, the Ugandan government heard their plea and sent in help.

In a statement, the army said the operation was coordinated through Uganda’s Defense Advisor in Turkey, Major General Bob Ogiki.

Authorities added that efforts are ongoing to identify and assist other Ugandan nationals who may still be in Iran and in need of help.

Iranian authorities and the Iranian Red Crescent Society say at least 555 people in Iran have been killed so far in strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces targeting Iranian territory during this conflict.

These deaths include children, civilians, military, and top Iranian leaders, all caught in the crossfire.

With the war still ongoing and the end date unknown, these numbers could rise up in just a matter of days.
