Tanzanian singer Harmonize has drawn a clear line in his ongoing effort to protect his name and career. In a very unusual manner of firmness, he conveyed that if the situation arises where his connection with Diamond Platnumz is used to tarnish his image, then he is prepared to sue people.
One thing that stands out about his message is that it was not theatrical, but it had a very steady tone which showed that he is simply fed up with the comparisons and the stories that keep dragging him into a past that he says he has already moved on from.
Harmonize elaborated that he appreciates the journey they took together but he thinks that every artist should be given the freedom to develop without being associated with old fights.
In his opinion, some people have intentionally exploited his past relationship with Wasafi Classic Baby to create more conflicts and gain more followers and he is saying that those who engage in such acts should stop.
In his statement, he proclaimed that he has his own brand and his own musical identity and that he wants people to judge him by the present and not by the past.
Firstly, he added, taking someone to court will not be the decision that he takes immediately, however, if someone goes out of their way to damage his brand, then he will surely take that step.
Also, he pointed out that it is the duty of the music industry to make sure that no one is living in the shadow of their former employer and that the industry should be the one to give rise to new talents.
Harmonize emphasized that he is busy putting out new records and that he is working hard to be known not only in East Africa but also in other regions.
He stated that it is his hope that people will put their ears to the ground and listen to his progress rather than to the fights that characterized his leaving Wasafi.
The first thing his words bring to mind is that he is definitely a man who is set out to protect his freedom and at the same time, send a message to anyone who might want to drag him into the past that he will not entertain them.
