enowned Kenyan hip hop rapper and social media influencer, Henry Ohanga popularly known by his stage name Octopizzo has broken silence and has asked the new president-elect, William Samoei Ruto to consider decriminalizing bhang in the country ahead of his reign.
While sharing his sentiments via an Instagram video, the sultry-voiced singer highlighted the benefits of weed and said it helps him reduce anxiety. He further dipped his fingers on the legal actions imposed by the country’s law over the usage of the plant and termed them as absolutely unfair.
He further added that though it would be difficult for him to understand, he should just try looking into the matter.
“Please decriminalize weed. Most of us smoke weed to reduce anxiety. I know this will take you alot of prayers to understand. You are in jail for five years because of smoking weed worth ksh 100, it’s not unfair,” he said.
While highlighting the benefits of the feared plant to the country’s economy, Octopizzo mentioned roots party leader, Proffesor Wajackoyah and said he had a point in his presidential ambitions by saying he will legalize weed if he becomes president because it can impact the country’s economy positively.
“Weed is the holiest plant on earth. This is a multi billion business if proper regulations are put in place. This is why we were fans of Wajackoyah because he knows the economic value of weed,” he added.
Meanwhile, it is hard to anticipate wether Ruto would consider his sentiments but time will tell.
