A woman identified as Mikelina is serving her 20-year jail term after anger led her to do the unthinkable while drunk. She deeply regrets her actions up to date, she says.
Mikelina and the husband had been married for years, and they were blessed with three children. Life went on well until when she gave birth to their third child. The husband started neglecting his responsibilities and he would come home drunk. Mikelina did not take this positively, and they used to have disagreements now and then, she states.
This went on for a while and on this fateful day, the unthinkable happened. They both came home drunk, and she asked him for money to buy food for the children. The husband refused and started to insult her. This triggered Mikelina’s anger, and she took a metal rod that was nearby and hit him on the head. He fell and started bleeding profusely, and he died almost immediately. Having seen this, she ran off to the chief to report the case because she was tensed. She was advised to go to the police and that’s when she was arrested and put in remand for seven years. This was because she had at first denied the allegations, saying that robbers killed the husband, she states.
She later confessed, and she was given a 20-year imprisonment. According to her, she didn’t intend to kill her husband, and she deeply regrets it up to date. She goes on to say that prison life is hard, and she therefore advises people to manage their anger issues before it gets out of hand like hers did.
