Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi Kilonzo is under growing public scrutiny following claims by a 26-year-old woman who insists she is his biological daughter and is ready to prove it through DNA testing.

Sharon Nduku, a bar attendant in Machakos town, has come forward alleging she was born from a brief relationship between the deputy governor and her mother in the late 1990s. According to Nduku, the relationship took place in Nairobi’s Huruma area, where her mother, Caroline Muendi, worked as a vegetable vendor at the time.

Nduku says she grew up without her father’s support and was raised by her grandmother, who financed her education until her death in 2020. She claims that attempts to seek help from Mwangangi during his tenure as Yatta MP were unsuccessful, even when her education and basic needs were at risk.

“I am not asking for handouts. I want acknowledgment and the truth,” Nduku said, adding that she has tried calling, texting, and even visiting the deputy governor’s office without success. Locals in Machakos town, she says, have long nicknamed her “Mtoto wa DG,” a label that has only intensified her emotional struggle.

Her mother supports the claim and accuses the politician of deliberately avoiding responsibility. She alleges that repeated efforts by family members to resolve the matter privately were ignored.

Nduku maintains she bears a striking physical resemblance to Mwangangi and says a DNA test would settle the issue once and for all. “I am not afraid of the truth,” she said.

The deputy governor has not directly addressed the allegations, instead dismissing them as politically motivated and linked to early maneuvering ahead of the 2027 elections.

As the story continues to attract public attention, pressure is mounting for a clear response that could finally put the matter to rest.
