Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared an emotional update on Baby Talisha, the four-year-old girl who witnessed a tragic family incident in Nakuru that claimed the life of her mother. In a social media post on Tuesday, July, 7, Sonko revealed that the child, who is currently under his care, has been making heartbreaking remarks that reflect the emotional trauma she continues to experience following the loss of her mother.
According to Sonko, the young girl accompanied him on a trip to Mombasa over the weekend.
While the plane was flying above the clouds, Talisha reportedly looked through the window and quietly said, “I can see heaven… I can see my mother.”
Sonko said the child has continued repeating similar words in the days that followed.
On Monday morning, she reportedly told him that she had seen her mother wearing a white dress. He added that she repeated the same statement later in the day and again before going to bed.The former governor explained that he had initially intended to continue documenting Talisha’s recovery journey, as he has done in previous updates.
However, he decided to stop recording some of the moments because they had become too emotional to capture on camera.
Talisha’s story attracted national attention after she and her nanny reportedly witnessed her mother being fatally stabbed by her father, identified as KDF Captain Edwin Kaunga, in a shocking domestic incident in Nakuru.
Sonko said every time the child speaks about her mother, it deeply affects him and serves as a reminder of the pain she carries.
