Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has told Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to issue an official apology for linking him to the kidnapping of Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala’s daughter.
Mutua said he will sue Musyoka for defamation should the Wiper Party leader fail to issue him the appology.
On November 11, Kiala reported that his 16-year-old daughter had been kidnapped, saying her abductors demanded that he drop his gubernatorial bid.
According to Nairobi County Commander, Japheth Koome, Nduku was traced to her boyfriendā€™s house and the two were picked and taken to the Nairobi Police Headquarters for interrogation.
Musyoka in a live show, claimed that Kialaā€™s daughter had been kidnapped by wiper political enemies in a bid to force Benard Kiala to drop out of the Machakos gubernatorial seat which the deputy governor is vying for under the Wiper party.
Mutua vowed to take legal action against Musyoka if he fails to admit that he did wrong by accusing him falsely.
ā€œIf he fails to apologize, I will not be left with any other option but to meet him in court on Tuesday November 29. I am not in need of the likely 3-5 million charges that may be drawn from the offense. I only wish for Kalonzo to humbly express regret for the slip of the tongue when he has the chance,ā€ said Mutua.
