Kenyan celebrity Gloria Kyallo has opened up about her career journey, explaining why she moved into digital marketing after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
Gloria shared the explanation on Thursday, September 17, 2026, while responding to a question about her academic background and current career.
She revealed that she studied Psychology and took Chemical Dependency as her minor before eventually moving into digital marketing.
According to Gloria, her career direction changed after she completed university and spent about a year earning a living through influencing. The experience exposed her to a different type of work and helped her discover an interest that she found fulfilling.
“Easy. I did a BA in Psychology with a minor in Chemical Dependency. I’m now in Digital Marketing cause I lived off influencing for a year after graduation and found a new kind of satisfaction and fulfilment with it,” Gloria explained.
Her decision means that the field she currently works in is different from the subject she studied at university. Rather than following a direct career path in Psychology, Gloria explored influencing and later developed an interest in digital marketing.
She also suggested that her career journey is still evolving. Gloria noted that she currently feels differently about her direction and left open the possibility that her plans could change again.
“Well, now I kind of feel different, soooo we’ll see,” she said.
Gloria’s experience highlights the possibility of career changes after university. A degree can provide academic training in one field, but graduates may later discover different interests through employment, business, creative work or other experiences.
For Gloria, influencing appears to have been an important part of that transition. Her time working as a content creator allowed her to experience a different professional environment before she moved further into digital marketing.
Gloria is also known to the public as the younger sister of media personality Betty Kyallo. The Kyallo sisters, including Mercy Kyallo, have attracted public attention through their individual careers and appearances in the Kenyan entertainment and media space.
Rather than presenting her academic qualification as the final destination, Gloria’s account shows how her professional interests developed after graduation. Her current focus on digital marketing came after she experimented with influencing and discovered satisfaction in a different area.
She has not indicated that she has abandoned her Psychology background entirely. Instead, her comments suggest that she is continuing to explore her professional direction and remains open to future changes.
For now, digital marketing represents a significant shift from the Psychology course she studied at university, with Gloria saying her experiences after graduation helped shape the decision.
