Gladys Shollei, the deputy speaker of the National Assembly, asserts that ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta may have been compelled to reject the nomination of the six justices by intelligence warnings.

She asserts that Uhuru chose judges outside of his legal authority, which is limited to those whose names the Judicial Service Commission has presented to him.

President William Ruto is doing appropriately, the leader claims, because the JSC should continue to assess who is or is not competent to serve on the judiciary.

After receiving the intelligence, she claimed that Uhuru should have returned to the JSC for further examination of the suspects rather than taking the initiative to wrap up everything by himself.

“The legislation says that if you have such proof you petition the JSC to seek the establishment of a tribunal to find out if the allegations are real,” the Uasin Gishu Woman Representative said.
