Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei has opened up about her love life, revealing a surprising detail about her current marriage.

In a resurfaced interview with TV47, Shollei shared that she first met her mzungu husband, Neil Horn, while she was still in university. At the time, she was studying at the University of Cape Town, where the two briefly dated before life took them in different directions.

Shollei later got married to former Standard Group CEO, Sam Shollei, with whom she had three children. Their marriage eventually ended, and she later reconnected with Neil, the man she once knew during her campus years.

“I had my first marriage many years ago, and I have three children from that marriage and a fourth one. That marriage fell apart, and yes, I moved on. I am now married to someone I have always known. I dated him when I was at the University of Cape Town,” Shollei revealed.

The Deputy Speaker also spoke about how she balances family, politics, and personal life. She praised the resilience of women who manage different roles daily, admitting that she too learns from them.

When it came to her wedding plans, Shollei credited two close friends who always help her organize events. “I call them my fixers, my Olivia Popes. We had a traditional wedding in Kenya, a white wedding in Cape Town, and later a small celebration in Kenya for relatives who couldn’t travel,” she said.

On social media, Kenyans reacted with mixed opinions. Some praised her for moving on, while others noted that life often takes people back to familiar places.

For Shollei, her story is a reminder that second chances in love are possible—and sometimes, they come from the past.
