Afande Clante Loko has captured the hearts of many Kenyans following his remarkable journey from playing music at night vigils to entertaining one of the country’s most elite security forces.
Before the fame, Clante Loko was a familiar face in Matisi, a bustling suburb in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County. He spent endless nights working as a Disco Matanga DJ, providing music to comfort grieving families and entertain local communities during funeral wake ceremonies.
Through sheer passion, consistency, and relentless hard work, his talent eventually caught the attention of the General Service Unit (GSU). Today, he serves proudly as the official DJ for the unit, swapping small village sound systems for major official platforms.
Local residents in Matisi expressed immense joy and relief seeing one of their own break through the odds. “We used to see him struggle with basic equipment here in Matisi, but he never gave up,” shared one neighbor.
