A young man has shared his memories of the late gospel singer Ifunanya Nwangene, expressing sadness over her recent death. Anyi BelCanto, a friend of Ifunanya, spoke about how they met and his feelings after she passed away.
On the day Ifunanya died, Anyi was at the hospital, hoping for good news about her health.
Instead, he received a shocking call from his friend, Michael Omogbai, who told him the heartbreaking news that Ifunanya had died.
This news hit hard for Anyi because he was in the middle of planning a Valentine concert for February 15, where Ifunanya was supposed to perform.
Anyi recalled meeting Ifunanya for the first time after a concert in November of the previous year.
They had spent time together along with other musicians, discussing their dreams for future projects.
Anyi was excited to collaborate with her and had plans for a musical production that he hoped would take place soon.
After hearing the tragic news, Anyi hurried to the hospital.
He noticed that many people from the classical music community were there, all gathering to mourn Ifunanya’s passing.
It was hard for Anyi to accept that such a talented singer, with a bright future ahead, was gone.
Anyi followed the ambulance carrying Ifunanya’s body from the hospital to her church, where prayers were held before her burial.
He decided to take a moment to look inside the ambulance. What he saw was both beautiful and heartbreaking: even in death, Ifunanya looked stunning.
She was wearing makeup and appeared graceful, reminding him of a queen. Anyi felt moved by this image, realizing that she maintained her dignity even in her last moments.
