Great producers have always been drawn to Kenya because of its rich history, varied culture, and stunning natural scenery.
1. Tomb Raider: The cradle of life
Just two hours outside the city, in Kenya’s breathtaking Hell’s Gate National Park, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life was filmed on location.
Many shots, especially the main ones in the “tomb,” are perfectly framed by the stunning gorges, cliffs, and rocks. Pokot tribe members from Kenya appeared in the film as the strange tribe that tomb raider Lara Croft discovered in Africa.
2. The First Grader
One of a kind and motivating, this film is. It is a biographical film about Tony Njoroge, a Mau Mau (freedom fighter) who is the oldest pupil to ever enroll in an elementary class at the age of 84.
He starts a learning adventure without any qualms after finding that primary school is now free for primary children, a chance he had never had before and couldn’t afford. He is in a class with six-year-olds. It is a tale about maintaining focus and seizing opportunities at any age. The Great Rift Valley of Kenya is where the movie was filmed.
3. Born to be wild
This documentary was filmed in Borneo’s jungles and in Kenya. It provides light on the attempts to save wild species, particularly elephants, who are extensively featured in the 40-minute documentary film, and is narrated by the instantly recognizable voice of Morgan Freeman. The conservation efforts are led by Birute Galdikas and Daphne Sheldrick.
4. Rise and fall of Idi Amin
Idi Amin, the president of the Republic of Uganda during his rule in the 1970s, is the subject of this biographical film.
Due to his peculiarities, which included excluding Asian businesspeople from his nation, Uganda’s economy failed. The scenic areas of western Kenya serve as the backdrop for some of the movies.
5. The Ghost and the Darkness
The amazing tale of the Tsavo man-eaters is well-documented in historical accounts as a fascinating terror that the Nairobi-Mombasa railway workers had to undergo.
The two male mane-less lions that occasionally made dinner of the crew and the guy who sets out to hunt them down to put an end to the bloodshed and terror are the central characters in the story.
