Comedian and activist Eric Omondi has announced a five-day charity walk from Nairobi to Busia as he intensifies efforts to raise funds for the construction of the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre.
In a video shared on his social media platforms, Eric said the walk will start on March 2 and continue until Friday, covering several towns across the country.
“I walked to Mombasa and we raised enough money to begin this project and that’s the most important part. I am going to keep walking and probably the whole of Kenya until this project is complete,” he said.
The comedian said the Busia walk will pass through major towns including Limuru, Naivasha, Nakuru, Gilgil, Kericho, Kisumu, Maseno, Luanda, Siaya and Bondo.
Eric said the aim of the initiative is to mobilise resources to complete the rescue centre, which he described as a transformative project that will serve vulnerable Kenyans.
“Sisi kwa sisi Help and Rescue Centre will provide free healthcare, free education, Sisi kwa Sisi hospital, two ambulances and a warehouse,” he said.
Eric expressed confidence that the centre will be completed before May, saying that the continued walks are meant to ensure construction progresses without delays.
“We are going to finish the Sisi kwa Sisi Rescue Center before May 2026,” he said.
Eric thanked those who participated in donations during the Mombasa charity walk and appealed to Kenyans to continue supporting the initiative, emphasising that contributions are not limited to money.
“Keep sending whatever you can send and it’s not a must to send money. You can send iron nails, iron sheets, cement, sanitary pads, cooking materials and even prayers,” he said.
The activist has in recent years positioned himself at the forefront of charity initiatives aimed at helping disadvantaged communities, often using his influence and public platform to mobilise support.
His latest walk is expected to draw attention along the route, with supporters likely to join him in parts of the journey as he continues his mission.
