Few days ago the Church of England’s national assembly voted to let priests in the church to bless same gender marriages and civil partnerships, even though they will continuing to ban church weddings for the same couples.
This was approved after an eight hour long debate where they resolved to even offer an apology to the LGBTQ people for the neglect and the failure of the church not to welcome them.
The move was not received well by the Anglican church of Kenya and the church leadership highly condemned the approval.
Led by arch bishop ole Sapit, the church issued a statement disagreeing with the move saying that it is not biblical as God ordered a union between a man and a woman.
