The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has announced registration fees for aspirants seeking to contest various elective positions on its ticket in the 2027 General Election.
In a notice issued on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the party called on prospective candidates to complete the registration process and pay the required fees through designated payment channels.
DCP said the move forms part of its preparations for the upcoming elections as it seeks to establish a broad-based political movement focused on greater participation in the electoral process.
“As we build a people-powered movement, we are committed to inclusivity and opportunities for all,” the party stated.
Under the new fee structure, candidates seeking the party’s ticket will pay different amounts depending on the elective position they intend to contest.
Those seeking to become Members of County Assembly (MCAs) will pay Ksh5,000, while aspirants for Member of Parliament, Woman Representative and Senator positions will each be required to pay Ksh10,000.
Governor aspirants will pay the highest registration fee of Ksh50,000.
The party has, however, introduced a reduced fee for youth and persons with disabilities seeking elective positions.
According to DCP, such aspirants will pay 50 per cent of the applicable registration fee in every category.
The announcement comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 General Election, with prospective candidates expected to begin positioning themselves for party nominations.
DCP has directed all aspirants to make their payments through the PayBill number provided by the party as part of the registration process.
After completing the payment, candidates are required to submit their transaction message alongside personal and electoral details to the contacts provided by the party.
The information required includes the aspirant’s full name, identification details, phone number, county, constituency, ward and the position they intend to contest.
“After payment, send the transaction message, full name, ID, phone number, county, constituency, ward, and position you intend to vie for, to the numbers below,” DCP stated.
The party urged interested candidates to comply with the registration requirements as it continues laying the groundwork for the 2027 polls.
The announcement is expected to attract aspirants across the country seeking an alternative political platform as parties prepare for nominations and the wider electoral contest.
DCP’s emphasis on reduced fees for youth and persons with disabilities also signals its intention to widen access to the party’s nomination process among groups that have historically faced financial and structural barriers in elective politics.
