Earlier, a woman identified as Maria Wangare alias Rish Kamunge became the subject of discussion on social media, especially after she was arrested for scamming Kenyans in need of jobs. The woman who used to live a lavish life, left many with shock as they failed to believe what she did.
Sharing a post on social media today, the DCI revealed that the suspect owned an agency known as Trustpine Travel Agency, where she used to target Kenyans seeking employment in Mauritius. According to the DCI, victims reported paying between Sh200,000 and Sh400,000 for job placements, only to discover that the promised opportunities did not exist.
“Investigations have revealed that a total of 43 victims sent Sh12.9 million to the suspect. Rish Kamunge appeared in court for custodial orders, and was subsequently remanded at Capital Hill Police Station. The case is scheduled for mention today, March 28, 2025.” DCI wrote.
According to the DCI, Rish has received an amount of 12.9 million after scamming 43 individuals. Concluding their post, the DCI asked anyone who has ever been scammed by Rish, to report the matter at the Central Police Station in Nairobi.
