DCI

DCI Boss Mohamed Amin has continued to draw the wrath of Kenyans online after coming out to disown kidnapping incidents within the country and absolve his department, DCI of any complicity.

Speaking in a statement on August 13th, Amin complained about the ongoing allegations noting that the DCI had no role in the crimes, he wished he knew the whereabouts of the missing Kenyans.

“We take those we arrest to gazetted police stations. The DCI is not involved in kidnappings. I wish I knew where the missing Kenyans are,” Amin said.

He further questioned the logic behind the accusations, asking, “Why would I kidnap anyone, and where would I even take them?”

The foregoing remarks have elicited numerous comments in the social media platforms, and this prompted the research that reveals that many Kenyans were surprised, angry, and skeptical of the revelations by the DCI Chief.

People’s confidence in police has declined in the recent past because of many accounts of extra judicial activities and several unresolved cases of abductions, which most people attribute to security forces.

Among them Twitter which has become the stage of arguing and criticism. Some users straight up refuted Amin’s statements and put forward views and opinions that he only merely sought to lay blame elsewhere.
