CS Alfred Mutua has accused a Dubai-based woman of trying to extort him through threats and harassment over child custody and support.

In court documents filed at the Milimani Children’s Court, Mutua admits he had a brief relationship with the woman, identified as FMM, in 2022 while visiting Dubai. Their romance led to the birth of a baby girl in August 2023.

After a DNA test confirmed he is the father, the woman allegedly began making outrageous demands. These include foreign residency for her and the child, a foreign passport, access to government tenders, a blank cheque, and even an appointment to a government mission abroad.

Mutua says the woman has used the child to try and pressure him into giving in. “Some of her demands are unlawful and violate the Constitution,” the CS said in his affidavit.

He accuses her of constantly calling him, demanding favors, and threatening to expose him on social media if he does not meet her terms. She later posted about their child online, which Mutua says was done to shame and embarrass him publicly.

The woman, in her counterclaim, says Mutua has failed to support the child emotionally, financially, or psychologically. She wants him to take full responsibility for all the child’s needs and claims she has already spent over Sh6 million raising the baby.

She denies the extortion claims and says her requests were only suggestions made after Mutua asked how she would prefer things handled.

Mutua is asking the court for equal parental responsibility and to stop the woman from posting anything about the child online.
