Nyokabi

A Nairobi court has allowed Anne Nyokabi, the sister of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, to remove her former business partner from her house.

The ruling was made by High Court Judge Jane Onyango, who said that although the man, Moses Gachemi Nderitu, had a strong case, he did not prove he was homeless or unable to find another place to live.

Moses had argued that he helped in building the house and therefore had a right to stay there. But the court found that this was not enough to stop the eviction.

Anne Nyokabi and Moses were once close business partners. However, their relationship soured, leading to a legal battle over who had rights to the property.

In court, Moses claimed he put in money during the construction of the house and should not be forced out. But Anne argued that the property was fully hers and she wanted him to leave.

The judge agreed with Anne, saying that while Moses might have a good case in the long run, he had not shown any evidence of lacking other options for shelter. Because of this, the court could not stop the eviction.

The decision has now cleared the way for Anne to proceed with removing Moses from the house.

This case is just one example of how disputes over property can get complicated, especially when personal and business relationships are mixed.
