Former police officer Jackson Kuria Kihara, better known as Cop Shakur, has revealed what led him to report his ex-wife to the authorities.
The ex-officer, who became popular during the Gen Z protests, shared a video showing his former wife appearing before a court.
Shakur said the woman had gone to his house in anger, damaged his belongings, and insulted him on social media. He explained that the attacks were personal and that she even made threats against his life.
He decided to handle the matter through the law rather than take matters into his own hands.
According to Shakur, the case was heard at Kikuyu Law Court, which is currently operating from a church building after its main court premises were destroyed by fire. He said he also filed another complaint claiming that his ex-wife had continued to issue threats against him.
This comes at a difficult time for the former officer, who has been struggling financially since leaving the service. Shakur, who once served as a prison warden, resigned after supporting the Gen Z protests that shook the country earlier this year.
In recent months, he shared that he has been facing several challenges, including unemployment, rent arrears, and difficulties in supporting his child. He also said his relationship had fallen apart, adding to his emotional distress.
Despite these challenges, Shakur has maintained that he wants to follow legal procedures and seek justice.
