Alarm and concern spread on Saturday after claims emerged that an obstetrician attached to The Nairobi Hospital had been taken away by police officers earlier in the day.

The issue was first raised by lawyer Nelson Havi, who reported that Dr Job Obwaka was allegedly abducted on Saturday morning. According to the information shared, the incident happened at around 9am.

Dr Obwaka is a practicing obstetrician based at The Nairobi Hospital, one of the country’s major private health facilities. Obstetricians play a critical role in maternal care, including pregnancy monitoring, delivery services, and treatment of complications affecting mothers and newborns.

Reports indicate that the doctor’s mobile phone has remained switched off since the time he was reportedly taken. The sudden loss of communication has raised anxiety among colleagues, friends, and family members who have been trying to reach him.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction remain unclear. It is not yet known why the doctor was targeted or whether any formal arrest had been made. No official communication had been released by the police at the time the claims surfaced.
