Letoo

Citizen TV reporter Stephen Letoo welcomed 2026 in a way few people do. Instead of fireworks in the city, he chose drums, dance, and community back home in Kilgoris.

As the year changed, Letoo opened his home in Enooretet to young people from his community. By morning, his compound was full.

Thousands of Gen Z morans from the Ilikiramat age set had arrived, dressed in bright Maasai shukas and beads, ready to celebrate together.

The mood was joyful and loud. Traditional songs filled the air. Youth danced in circles, jumping high and cheering each other on. Videos shared by Letoo showed pure happiness, culture, and pride.

However, the celebration was not only about fun. Letoo used the moment to speak to the youth directly. He encouraged them to take school seriously, support one another, and stay away from drugs and bad habits.

He reminded them that success does not come from shortcuts, but from discipline and unity.

He told the young people to always look out for each other, especially when it comes to education. If one of them is struggling, he said, the rest should speak up and help. His message was simple: grow together or fall together.

Food was plenty, but still not enough. Letoo revealed that five bulls were slaughtered for the celebration, yet the crowd kept growing. Plates moved fast, laughter was everywhere, and no one wanted to leave.

Online, Kenyans reacted quickly. Many praised Letoo for staying connected to his roots despite his national fame. Others admired how he mixed celebration with mentorship. Some even joked that he should consider leadership in the future.
