Five years have passed since the beloved Kenyan comedian Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, passed away in July 2020.His daughter, Chellah, recently took part in TikTok’s viral “You Think You Can Hurt Me” trend, choosing heartbreakingly to tribute her father. According to Tuko.co.ke, she shared:

“I can’t believe it’s been five years since he left us… your laughter, your legacy, your light still with us… how you loved to drink porridge off a plate. Papa Shirandula. Never forgotten, forever missed.”

She posted side-by-side photos—one showing her father holding his three children, and another of herself today—expressing how deeply she still misses him. When asked what she would tell her late father, Chellah replied poignantly:

“Watoto wake tunammiss” (“His children miss him”).

Fans poured out empathy in the comments, sharing their own memories and condolences. Meanwhile, actor Tony Sherman lauded Bukeko’s legacy, saying his work inspired many young actors to pursue their passion, embodying the profound impact Papa Shirandula had on Kenya’s storytelling
