President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has joined a number of prominent international figures in New York as Kenya takes part in activities surrounding the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Charlene travelled to New York over the weekend to attend the World Logic Forum 2026, a gathering that brought together professionals, leaders and influential figures from different fields and generations. Discussions at the forum focused on areas such as healthcare, philanthropy, leadership and emerging opportunities for the future.
Her visit comes at a time when the 81st UN General Assembly High-Level Week is taking place in New York between September 21 and 25. The event has attracted presidents, prime ministers, government representatives, diplomats and other international stakeholders.
The General Assembly officially began its current session on September 8, with Bangladesh’s Khalilur Rahman serving as its president. The theme for this year’s session is “Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers for all.”
Charlene said she was pleased to take part in the international engagements, emphasizing the need to create meaningful opportunities for young people to participate in decisions that will shape society in the years ahead.
In remarks shared on social media, she said her experience at the World Logic Forum strengthened her view that young people should not simply be invited to participate in decision-making but should also be given responsibilities that enable them to make a meaningful contribution to the future.
Her involvement at the event received further recognition after she was presented with the Logic Circle Award under the theme “Investing In The Next Generation.”
The award recognized women and emerging leaders whose work has contributed to philanthropy, social impact and initiatives focused on preparing future generations.
Charlene has also been involved in youth-focused advocacy and philanthropic activities through the SMACHS Foundation, an organization associated with health and community support initiatives.
Her presence in New York coincides with President William Ruto’s participation in the UN General Assembly. The President arrived in the United States on September 20 and is scheduled to hold engagements with global leaders, international organizations and business representatives.
His discussions are expected to cover areas including investment, technology, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and energy. Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has also identified debt sustainability, climate financing, digital trade and regional security as key issues for the country during the UNGA meetings.
As international leaders gather in New York to discuss global challenges and cooperation, Charlene’s participation has provided an additional Kenyan presence in conversations focused on youth leadership, philanthropy and international collaboration.
