First Lady Rachel Ruto was among the guests at a church event at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on Wednesday, October 28, and she was one of the main figures of the day.
Photos shared by DJ Kezz show her standing at a wooden lectern, speaking into a microphone and dressed in a long, flowing brown and yellow print.
Rows of guests filled the hall in front of her, many in coordinated blue outfits, while others wore bright formal and traditional attire. A choir in blue vests and white shirts added to the festive mood.
Her presence drew extra attention because her daughter, Charlene Ruto, and son-in-law, Isaya Yunge, were also at the gathering. It was the couple’s first public appearance since returning from their honeymoon.
Charlene wore a vivid pink floral dress with white heels, while Isaya looked sharp in a white jacket, dark trousers and glasses. One photo shows the two dancing, relaxed and smiling, and another catches them seated quietly side by side after Charlene changed into a pink top and skirt set.
With the First Lady addressing the room and her family close by, the event had a warm, personal feel. DJ Kezz’s caption reflected on how the right room can inspire and challenge a person, showing them they are capable of more than they imagined.
For many Kenyans, the pictures offered a first look at the newlyweds easing back into public life, with Mama Rachel at the centre of the celebration.
